Karen was a supporter of Agua and died only a month after Gilles returned home from his last trip to Mexico after a long battle with Cancer. The people of El Mirador were told who she was and about the beautful granite plate that was laid into the foundation of the well. Her name will be known by this well. We hope that it is a fitting reminder of her life to her family and friends.

I personally saw one women remove her shoes before she stepped on the well foundation to pump a bucket of water. Gilles and the other men and women of this team will be long remembered for their dedication and the love they showed to hundreds of people they had never met.
For more information on Agua Resources contact us at aguareseources@cotr.com

AGUA!

Three Successful Wells!

A team of six men and one woman from Canada successfully drilled three great producing water wells this week and they are still not finished.

We are in Atoyac De Alvarez with our good friends Tom and De'Anna Shaffer of Latin World Ministries. The team has worked several long days and had their fair share of problems in the well drilling process, but they perservered...with complaints.

This team of four pros and three rookies consited of:
Casey Sitter
Tim Ehnisz
Gilles Dumonceaux
Aaron McNabb
Deborah McNabb
Walter Vidal
Graeme Swinnerton

They have worked tremendously hard for a new community that was desperately in need of water. We can proudly say WAS because they now have two very successful wells. El Mirador is a new community where the last well team sank one well last trip. However, the community has grown faster and larger than many imagined and they are quite some distance from water. Originally we planned to only sink one well for them, but there are few places in Mexico with greater need. Both wells had their fair share of problems, but this team perservered without complaints.

One other well was sank in Colonia Central, just outside of Atoyac.

We cannot thank the familes of these men and women enough for their support, hard work, and heart to touch the nations. Without you they would not be here. We know it is sometimes difficult to be out of touch and 'holding down the fort' while they are away. But they are now heros in the eyes of many people...including ours! A warning though...they are not the same! Many of them have been bit by the 'missions bug' and have seen the result of their labor of love.
We pray many of you will join us next time.

Until then...Dios la Bendiga!
Susan Creel
For more information on Agua Resources contact us at aguareseources@cotr.com

A Message from Father Thomas Shaffer

Many of you may already know Father Thomas. For those of you who do not know him...He is our missionary contact on the Mexico side of the border. He is a great man and he and his wife De'Anna have been serving as missionaries to Mexico for years.

His ministry, Latin World Ministries, is a dynamic medical ministry that has greatly impacted the regions surrounding his clinic, Clinica Bethel in Atoyac de Alvarez, Mexico. The medical facility there is considered one of the best in the state. (Visit their website for before and after pictures of dramatic surgeries that have restored not only health but LIFE to many in need.)

Father Thomas has been one of our greatest fans and we cannot thank him enough for his support.

Recently, on the cover of his newsletter he wrote this:
------------------------------------------------------------

A Message from Fr. Thomas Shaffer ~

Recently, I had an opportunity to work with a very dedicated group of volunteers from the Beaumont – Port Arthur area in Texas. They came to Mexico to drill water wells specifically designed to provide a contamination free source of drinking water. Here in the southern State of Guerrero sources of clean drinking are extremely limited. Most villagers draw water from streams or open wells, of which both are highly susceptible to surface contamination. Needless to say, the ministry of drilling water wells is having a tremendous impact on the lives of literally thousands of people living in Mexico.

Well, on the second day of drilling, our water well team received word that new forecast information was predicting hurricane Rita to make land-fall not in the previously forecasted area between Corpus Christi and Galveston, but more likely in the area surrounding Port Arthur, Texas. Immediately, all efforts were redirected to getting the team back to Houston to assist in the evacuation of their families. At the very moment we arrived at the airport check-in counter in Acapulco we were advised that the Houston airport had just been closed.

It was indeed a helpless feeling, knowing that there was now no way to reunite our well drillers with their families. Completely isolated, out team members could only watch as news reporters described the horrible storm taking aim at their homes. It was for me, a heart wrenching experience.

In these days that follow I think often of our dear friends in Beaumont, Nederland, and Port Arthur. I pray that God gives them peace and restores order in their lives. As they go about the hectic business of restoration, I trust that God will refresh them with the knowledge that for those days of sacrifice, multitudes of precious people, for many years to come, will benefit from their labor of love.

Fr. Thomas Shaffer
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you Fr. Thomas for your prayers. We can feel them and the prayers of many others like you. We are anxious to get back to the business of drilling water wells and can't wait to see you.

For more information on Agua Resources contact us at aguareseources@cotr.com

Agua Now Booking 2006 Trips

Hurricane Rita put a little delay on our trip planning for 2006, but she will not keep us from our mission! The building is a new construction and the local pastors are excited about the propsects of a well being placed in their community and the impact it will have.

This will not be easy drilling. Haiti has some treacherous terrain, but our God is able. Please pray for financial support for this adventure as well as wisdom and guidance for all involved.
For more information on Agua Resources contact us at aguareseources@cotr.com

Headed for Haiti
Agua Resources will be sending Darren Creel and a veteran Agua driller to Haiti in August to scout the area for information about the water situation there. Currently, we know that one in every 8 children in Haiti will not see their 5th birthday. That statistic alone is enough to make us want to drill, but our Board of Directors wanted us to put our feet on the ground there to get a real idea of the situation and how we can effect it.

Please be in prayer for our team and protection as they are there. Haiti has been described as a virtual 'war zone' in recent months and with upcoming elections, emotions are heightened. Pray also that Agua will be able to connect with drilling organizations there or find a way possible to get rigs there and begin drilling ourselves. We will keep you posted!
Dios la Bendiga!
For more information on Agua Resources contact us at aguareseources@cotr.com

View the
Agua Documentry
"Every Eight Seconds"
For more information on Agua Resources contact us at aguareseources@cotr.com

Our Drilling Supervisor
Profile:
Darren L. The men of the village would dig a hole with a posthole digger until they hit a water vein that would seep into the hole. The women would get on hands and knees to get the water out of the hole with a coconut shell. The water itself was so contaminated it had foam on the surface.
The Agua team, a group of men from three different churches, drove into town on Wednesday and attempted a well. Unfortunately they hit a stubborn rock layer that just would not break, but a phone call home to Darren Creel’s wife started prayer warriors in three different cities.

Against normal routine, Darren Creel allowed the team to return to the village the next day. Prayers warriors were uniting in prayer for an ‘X’ on the ground for the team. They apparently found it, and the village now has a sealed well with a hand pump that will provide clean, fresh water for them continuously.
